1.
Like Icicles 02:15
A soul curls in its icy nest Hanging indifferent Wind and light carve a world in our senses A world of indifference Seeking escape in the arms of our captor Begging indifference
2.
In a womb The seed is secure The host is the prison, the poison, the cure When oxygen abounds Freedom is diffuse Organs contracted, extracted for teamakers’ use Complacency A human disease In the stale skulls of the petty, it festers and breeds The ocean in our heads longs to be released Corpse lies on the couch Stench that fills the house When brains die forgotten Legacies fester in seeds long begotten
3.
Wet Snow 05:47
What difference will exposure make? Whose face floats in that languid lake? Like ignorant monarchs, we sit atop spires Tirelessly iterative polymorphous bricks Forgetting the doom of our ancestral dowry While still in our spines swim primordial fish As stagnation has been felt, I come here now to contemplate This reflection of myself and how the two are misaligned Gleaning balance in the movement of the pines Metastasis interrupts, a runaway reaction To the overwhelming stimuli of the place our souls belong It’s the heart that tries to grow itself a lung We’re planetary effluvium, bound here as we effervesce Unrestrained potential, a conscious chemical process What if she told you it’s cold outside? The smell that surrounds, dead frost on the ground The birds in the bushes found a way to survive As that breathless hound advances As discharge we are creatures forlorn In exile from the nurturing sea Doomed by nature to return Like blossoms of anger on youthful cheeks
4.
I go and pray at the temples of autumn Cleansed by the weight of the trees Air stained the colour of leaves Voiceless like a Viking graveyard This monolith breathes
