lyrics

We laid there frozen as if by a spell
Every word, we were breathless to know
Action potential straight from his soul
Each word making the rift more whole

A fire was there, lonely and cold
Four stood around it, and reluctance three showed
Pseudopoetic, she stood on the edge
And we can see now that some things just don’t need to be said

Catharsis
We sing it to ourselves
I don’t want to die until I’m someone else
When thought of in dreams, the future will laugh
And the world of the present will have decayed in the past

Hearts and drums throb in asynchronous rhythm
Colours in the dark and the music’s sweaty drone
There’s no doubt that we’re all dancing
But it feels like I’m alone

If my value is lesser than or equal to
My overall amount of failed interviews
Then is the length of my future decided
By the number of parties to which I haven’t been invited?

Catharsis
We repeat it to ourselves
I don’t want to die until I’m someone else
While our lips are still dry, we drink to the end
From cups crystalline like the tears of our friends

Catharsis
Let’s sing it to ourselves
I don’t want to die until I’m someone else
And we’ll sing it again because we all know it sells
This ritual of healing as old as commerce itself
